Starting the 1st of May on Bouygues Telecom France and in June
on Telefonica Spain
Netherlands-based Mobile Media International,
a leading developer of global entertainment services
for wireless, has the launch of its cross-platform MMS
service known as "Yo!Cards" in France on Bouygues
Telecom's i-mode platform.
Yo!Cards will add a dynamic offering of multimedia messaging
to i-mode phones in the France and Spain, allowing subscribers
to send animated messages not only among i-mode subscribers,
but also from i-mode handsets to PCs. PC recipients of
Yo!Cards can also respond directly to the sender's i-mode
phone. With an extensive collection of animated messages,
the service will target Europe's rapidly growing demand
for youth-oriented multimedia wireless services.
The service has also been adopted by the Spain's leading
operator, Telefonica Moviles, which launches its e-mocion
service in June, 2003.
BOUYGUES TELECOM
Following its 1996 commerial launch, Bouygues Telecom
has become a leading telecom carrier in France with an
international coverage of over 160 countries. In 2002,
Bouygues Telecom earned revenues of 2.7 million euros.
As a licensee of NTT DoCoMo, it is responsible for overseeing
the launch of the immensely popular I-mode service in
the French telecom market. i-mode in France was launched
November 2002 and is used by over 150,000 customers,
allowing subscribers to receive emails and other multimedia
services. To date, over 1.4 million emails have been
sent over i-mode in France.
